More about Danielle

Danielle has gone through some rough times, often from the choices she made. But as her mother always told her, one day she will turn herself around. Her mom is a big influence but didn't live to see her prophecy come true.

A couple of years ago, Danielle walked into Glide Memorial Church and joined their Women in Progress program, attending until the pandemic shut it down. Seeing her progress, they offered to work with her on employment and on a housing lead that is about to come to fruition in Richmond.

She has reconnected with her family and is rebuilding relationships with her kids. She is proud that her kids never ended up in the system. A woman on the rise, she is learning to look ahead not back and is determined to achieve her goals.

Danielle’s Miracle Money Experience

After years of frustration, hope, fear, and determination, Danielle finally moved into her home in Richmond. Having built connections and relationships in the process, she is joyous and thankful.

Danielle has been careful with her Miracle Money and she appreciates Miracle Friends. She has also reconnected with her kids and family, and they are believing and helping her.

In the early months of Miracle Money, Danielle prepared to move soon into Senior Supported Housing in Richmond. With the Miracle Money she has saved, she was excited to furnish and supply her future studio apartment. She did a walk-through in early May and waited for the transition funding and for the unit to receive final approval for occupancy.

Danielle is also saving her Miracle Money, only buying a few things for her new home that is forthcoming. After working so hard to get housing and riding all the ups and downs of the process, the Miracle Money made her dream seem a bit more real.

As an example, she bought an iron. As a child, she was taught to iron and how to properly starch. She hasn't had a steam iron in a very long time. She is hoping, not just to do her ironing, but possibly make some money ironing for people. As she waits for Contra Costa County to finalize the new place, she can now plan what she will need to move in and not just face an empty box.

Her positive energy as she does this is contagious.

Why Miracle Money?

Build relationships.

Our Miracle Friends program meets people where they are at, treats people not as problems to be solved but as people to be loved. We find that good communication and accountability follow.

Give funds.

We have raised over $45,000 through peer-to-peer fundraising to give 15 recipients $500/month for six months. Funds are used for housing, car repairs and transportation, bills, clothing, and more.

Repeat.

Seeing how Miracle Money changes lives, donors are encouraged to give and see the joy of knowing that every dollar donated goes to an unhoused neighbor in need. They follow updates along the way.

Help make a difference.

Donate to Miracle Money and help change a life like Peggy’s.
