Early this year, Miracle Messages worked its magic and helped reunite a father and son who had been separated for over ten years. The exciting reconnection happened after Eddie Thompson Ⅲ contacted Miracle Messages for help in April. 

Over the years, Eddie has faced housing insecurity and spent years looking for his son, Shay. He hadn’t found success due to limited resources and needed more help doing so. Eddie explained he desperately wanted to tell his son, “I love you to death and have been trying to get in contact with you for years,” (Eddie). Miracle Messages provided him with this opportunity.

In an effort to bring the two together, volunteer Lindsay Pfeiffer took on Eddie’s case. With hard work and consistency, Lindsay was able to locate Shay and inform him that his father had been actively looking for him. 

Shay was awestruck. For the entirety of his adult life, he had been searching for his father. The pair have been separated since Shay finished high school. Shay felt with each passing year, the reality of finding his father felt even more impossible. Serendipitously, through what felt like magic, Shay found out that in all the years he spent looking for his father, his father had been searching for him as well.  

The two were reconnected through Miracle Messages and given a second chance at their relationship. After learning about his father’s whereabouts, Shay explained that he felt like he was on Oprah because the experience felt too miraculous to be real. He was beyond grateful to connect with his father after years spent apart.

With the help of Lindsay’s coordination, the two were finally able to reunite in person. Now, Eddie and Shay are reconnected and catching up on all the time they missed. At their reunion, Eddie not only found his son that he was searching for, but also discovered he has a beautiful granddaughter to get to know as well. The pair continue to maintain their relationship and are a testament to the indispensable role Miracle Messages has in bringing people together.
